As a powerhouse in her career, a dedicated mother, and a woman who takes a lot of pride in nurturing her body, most aspects of her life already exuded an abundance of confidence.

In her interview, she reveals having a lot of questions at first. She talks about reading and seeing other everyday women doing it. It didn’t matter what shape or size they were. Miss M. was gifted a boudoir session with us. And though she considers herself a highly confident woman, she, too, was a little nervous to step in front of the camera for something like this. Let’s be honest, it’s not everyday you slip into your skivvies to be photographed. Plus, Ill bet there’s been a time you’ve looked at a photograph of yourself and thought “I hate the way I look in that photo”. So, I don’t blame anyone for being a little hesitant at first. I think most women can relate to seeing photos of themselves and not liking the way they look in them. Know that this, a boudoir session at Bella Jade Boudoir, will not be one of those times.

Miss D. coming into our boudoir studio bringing all of the energy was such a breath of fresh air. Her confidence and body positivity entirely blew me away! After spending time working on her self image, over time she was able to get to a place of compassion, love, and appreciation for her body. We love that! Doing a boudoir session was something she wanted to do for herself as a way to honor her body, and celebrate her self love journey!

To celebrate her 50th birthday Miss T. decided to book a boudoir session with us at Bella Jade Boudoir in Scottsdale. This was something she knew would have to be on her bucket list no matter how scary it seemed — She would later find that doing this session had in fact made a positive impact on her self esteem and gave her a huge sense of pride. Looking back at these photos is now something she finds encouraging, empowering, and uses it as a reminder for herself that we are capable of amazing things if we can set aside what we’re afraid of, believe in ourselves, and are willing to step outside of our comfort zones.
For her boudoir session Miss T. booked The Grey Room in Scottsdale and wore a variety of outfits from sweet, subtlety seductive to something more ris·qué including topless with a white button down shirt. In her after the session interview she talks about how her most nerve wracking outfit ended up being in one of her favorite pics.

She says “Words can not express the amazing experience I had. Turning 50 at the end of 2022 and being body shamed since I was 12 this was something I have wanted to do for years but was so afraid to. Made it a bucket list item and signed up. I did my research on other photographers but following Christina on social media I got the feeling she truly cared and understood that not all women are built the same and we have our insecurities. I was right the moment I walked in the door the day of the shoot I felt like I was hanging out with old friends just catching up and having a great time. Then when I saw the completed pics all my previous worries went away and I am completely proud of myself for doing this. I wish I could say that doing a boudoir session is an easy YES for everyone, because I wholeheartedly believe in boudoir and what it can do for you. Though — the truth is that it is not uncommon for women to put off doing a shoot like this.

Miss D. admits she had some inhibitions going into this. She knew that she had wanted to do her very own boudoir photo shoot for a while. As a women in her 60’s in a body that looks different from medias perception of perfection it took a bit of courage to pull the trigger. And, honestly she is not alone in feeling the pressure to meet certain standards before booking a shoot like this. But for her — doing this NOW was the absolute right time!

What inspired you to pursue a Scottsdale boudoir session?
My first thought was for my husband's 50th birthday. I wanted to give him something he would never forget and something completely out of the usual. After booking and in anticipation of the shoot, I realized I was doing this for me. I have had self-image issues as many of us do, and I wanted to show myself my body is my own and damn sexy.
